So with this information we can see that the movie took place anywhere from the second Thursday of September in 1973 to the 7th of August in 1974. We can say that it was a very omniscient view and flashed forward throughout the school year. It looks like the first scenes took place after the second Thursday of September in 1973 to late July of 1974 because of the clothes that everyone was wearing and the kids having more time to run there businesses.
