Mortal Kombat (1995)
10/10
Flawless Victory!
20 January 2022
I just played the Mortal Kombat games for the first time ever this week, so I've been dying to rewatch the film!

I'm pleased to say I still love it as much as the first time. The actors are all perfect in their roles, but Raiden and Shang Tsung are particular stand outs. The fights are great (Johnny Cage vs Scorpion & Liu Kang vs Reptile!!!), the story is fun and gets right to the point, there's some beautiful cinematography, the set design is absolutely stunning, and the soundtrack is legendary.

That stuff is all well and good, but this film also has something more, that's hard to put my finger on, that makes it really special to me. It's not nostalgia, as I only watched it for the first time last year, but for some reason this movie just has a special place in my heart.

Overall, upon rewatching, I'm glad to say that this film is still a Flawless Victory!
