Dying Light 2: Stay Human (2022 Video Game)
8/10
It just doesn't feel like Dying Light, but it's fun and beautiful

Edit: Okay so after finishing the main story and a few side stuff, things have picked up a bit. I found the best weapons in Sunken cargo chests, I found a video for the infinite durability so I don't need to loose those weapons to breaking woohoo! I've explored every inch of the map, the toxic sludge is indeed annoying af it's everywhere truly and makes exploration less fun. It also severely limits your ability to wander around in the wild/forest settings, which is what I was hoping wouldn't be a thing a few months before it came out. Saddened to see that it ended up being so ... I went nearly completely into stamina and that certainly helps make that part feel less annoying.

I still have combat issues with the buttons on the PS5 feeling sticky and at times I'm pressing attack but nothings happening. Maneater actually had this exact same issue, I noticed the issue on the PS4 version too, so I reckon with this game both versions have issues. Paragliding around is fun, with the booster it's a bit better, but you still run out of stamina quickly if there's no vents nearby or if your flying around up high. I flew from the VNC building to the sludge wall and lo and behold an invisible wall stopped me going further, damn that sucked.

The underwater city is cool, that's where all the sunken airdrops are. Difficulty of some bosses was not fun especially with the sticky buttons. Volatiles are unsurvivable, I'm not sure what health you need to survive an encounter with them. Not only that but they have super health. The super precision of ranged npc's this was so annoyingly stupid. The side step dodge has killed me a lot, I have gone flying off buildings because of it. Climbing tall buildings sucks, I was always in a state of stress, nearing a full rage blow out. Climbing radio towers sucks. I still have not been able to get a full RP going, I managed like a 5 min one and than lost sight of what I was doing. I lost track a lot in 1 as well, but at least those were hours long at times. So they more than made up for it in the end.

The last boss sucks as in he was hard af and no I did not have fun, I was nearing a rage quit actually. At the end due to the missiles and despite a reversal of the story to continue the game, there's areas that are completely covered in rubble dust and it's very hard to manoeuvre through these areas, I hope they fix this. Overall it was a fun game, still not Dying Light esque honestly, but fun in certain elements anyways. Obviously the stuff I hated was not fun. I found a lot of beautiful scenery and took a minimum 200 photos, which was great. I'll continue to finish things and see how I feel after I've done most of it. However I reckon that it'll still be the same as it is now, an A for effort essentially.

I look forward to what they'll come up with for DLC's. Hopefully we get some of the Following, as in farm lands, forest like areas, beach areas etc. I really want a wild/forest section, I think I could totally do an RP in there. So yeah hoping for that.

I'm more reminded of like Far Cry New Dawn, specifically that one because that's the one I remember 100% of, than I am Dying Light itself. Everything feels different and although I'm enjoying the scenery and the floaty jump, it just doesn't feel the way I had hoped.

So to point out the issues for me, I can't role play in this, I just don't get that feeling like I did in 1. I had high hopes this one would allow me to do the same, but that is not the case.

The world itself despite the scenery feels generic, number 1 didn't feel this way to me. Probably the reason I don't feel like RP'ing.

I'm of course low level, with zero good upgrades including weapon stuff. So perhaps that's an issue here, but combat feels awful to me.

The stamina bar ruins everything but especially exploration.

A lot of the city is off limits due to some toxic waste, the area I had hoped to go to was not available. The bridge.

Highlights are it's graphically pleasing, even on top of the tallest windmill, even at night on top of that it looked pretty good.

Aiden's voice acting and random lines and such had me laughing a lot, I was having a blast any time he spoke.

The floaty jump is actually a lot of fun and very useful for me, someone who tends to fall a lot. Still died a lot though.

I was honestly more running around and exploring than doing the main quests. So that's all I've picked up so far, but hopefully there's other highlights later on.

I give it an 8 for beauty and Aiden's sometimes hilarious reactions and just being himself. The floaty jump and for the zombies themselves not being quiet as annoying as they are in 1. I like that you can effectively sneak past them and that their not walking up to you every chance they get.

I hope that when I open the entire map that things get a little less generic and that maybe I'll get the feeling to RP. It's not important anyways, I always have 1 for that. It just would've been nice is all.
