7/10
This is a step down from previous National Lampoon pictures but is still an absolutely must see

National Lampoon's European Vacation (1985) is a movie in my DVD collection that I recently watched on HBOMAX. The storyline follows the Griswold family after they went on a television game show and won a family trip to Europe. Follow the Griswolds as they adjust to European culture and Europe has to adjust to them...

This movie is directed by Amy Heckerling (Fast Times at Ridgemont High) and stars Chevy Chase (Fletch), Beverly D'Angelo (American History X), John Astin (The Addams Family), Jason Lively (Night of the Creeps), Paul Bartel (Death Race 2000) and Wendy Goldman (Casual Sex?).

This storyline is a bit uneven from previous National Lampoons films but it is still magic seeing these classic characters together again. I enjoyed the opening passport sequences through the credits. They did a good job depicting the behaviors and challenges of teenagers. The nude show was excellent and the hooker scene was hilarious. The depiction of European Hotel rooms are cliché but still pretty accurate. Lol

Overall this is a step down from previous National Lampoon pictures but is still an absolutely must see. I would score this a 7/10 and strongly recommend seeing it at least once.
