An amazing show, definitely worth your time

I decided to write this review after seeing that the show only has a 7.2 rating on IMDb. The show may be rough around the edges, and may seem "childish" on the surface, but it has a lot of depth if one takes an effort to look at what is going on. The show has chosen very concrete and serious issues that people struggle with in real life, life the work/life balance problem facing Becca after giving birth to a child along with the stress of taking care of a newborn baby. Even the issue of growing old/death is being dealt with in a mature way with the character that is living in a nursing home. All in all, serious issues being discussed openly with a lot of humor in the background to make it easier to digest.

Additionally, I think the show can give a new, comforting way of looking at your personality. To be specific, I think it's useful to look at your emotions as being in constant battle with one another. I find this comforting because it means that none of us are determined by our own worst impulses/thoughts. In other words, bad thoughts don't make you a bad person, as there are other parts of you fighting against them. It may not be original, I think "Inside Out" is doing something similar, but I haven't seen it, so this was my first exposure to the idea of "giving characters to emotions", and I found real value in that, hopefully I explained why.

It should also be mentioned that the show is extremely creative, both from the visual aspect (design of characters/sets), and from the musical aspect as there is a number of interesting and well-performed musical numbers throughout the show.

At any rate, I think this is a well-made show by smart, creative people that wanted to openly discuss serious issues (like mental health, sexuality) in order to get the audience to think about them, and hopefully learn something. For that, I think it deserves praise, and I hope it gets a chance for a second season.
