I sat down in 2022 to watch the 1970 crime thriller "Città Violenta" (aka "City of Violence") for the first time. I happened to stumble upon the movie by sheer random luck, and seeing that the movie had both Charles Bronson and Telly Savalas on the cast list, of course I opted to watch it.
Now, I didn't know that Bronson and Savalas participated in Italian produced movies, but it was actually a rather enjoyable and entertaining movie. The storyline was interesting and the writers managed to keep the movie fairly interesting throughout most of the running time. The movie did stagnate a bit in the third act, where there was a lot of talking between Bronson and Savalas.
The movie starts out with a fairly adrenaline-filled car chase and shoot-out scene, and with not a single word of dialogue for almost ten minutes. Quite an interesting way to start a movie.
I will say that "Città Violenta" definitely is a movie well-worth taking the time to watch, and even while the movie is 52 years old, it is a movie that has withstood the passing of time.
My rating of director Sergio Sollima's 1970 crime thriller "Città Violenta" lands on a six out of ten stars.
