While the best show, and it definitely has nothing on the original Black-ish, this is a show for older teens. The main themes in this show have "free form" written all over it and it seems as if a lot of these reviews aren't from the target audience. It's a coming of age show about a group of friends finding themselves in college. That being said, this show is incredibly political and most of the episodes are extremely, for lack of a better word, "woke". A group of culturally and sexually diverse friends go through typical college issues as well as dealing with race and politics. In the same way that a few of the original show "black-ish" were a bit much, this entire series is a bit much. I really enjoyed Zoe's character on the original show and I think she added a good deal to the family dynamic, however, in Grown-ish she is a very flat character without growth. As other reviewers have pointed out, the side characters are entertaining.
