Jim Jarmusch film
5 July 2022
Jun and Mitzuko are Japanese tourists and music fans visiting Memphis. She's an Elvis fan eager to see Graceland. Luisa is a widow from Rome escorting her husband's body back home. She agrees to share her hotel room with Dee Dee. Johnny robs a liquor store with his friends and try to hide in the hotel.

This is a Jim Jarmusch film. I really like the Japanese tourists. I like being lost in a foreign land except that it's rundown Memphis. I like the juxtaposition between the Japanese characters and their low rent American surroundings. That's only the first part in a three part movie. The second part does continue the foreigner aspect of the story. The third one abandons that and brings in some bigger actors. While some may like that part, the difference feels too jarring. Some parts I like. Some parts I like less.
