I guess I don't understand, is the director offering another reason (and justify) this horrific crime? Maybe it's just another attempt to sexualize something where there's no basis for the reach... The sad part is it attacks the character of someone(s) who were heinously killed. If you want to make a movie like that, then the characters should be entirely fictional. Just sad.

The sets and cinematography are very good. The acting (for the most part) is passable. The character Bridget (Maggie) is just learning to read but has beautiful handwriting? Everyone seems to have so little emotion, except for a few outbursts. Do people really think everyone in the 19th century was a stoic puritan, apparently the producers of this movie do. The people don't even greet each other.

Overall I found the pace consistent. Consistently slow, at least I had my best dog, Wilson, to keep me going.
