The good news. Javier bardem is a movie star and shows us why here. He portrays blanco the head of a factory which makes scales. He is the "patron" of his factory family. As working stiffs ourselves, we in the audience know that what he says to his "family" is really a lot of bunk. They just want a paycheck and are not interested in his pep talks. A fired employee sets up a camp out side the factory demanding his job back and causes a lot of trouble for blanco. He is expecting a team of people to arrive at the factory to possibly find his company worthy of an award. Blanco takes a personal interest in his employees, not because he cares at all, but because he gets caught up in their problems accidently. As he tries to solve one problem, he stumbles upon another. And of course things get complicated. He also does something stupid, which is telegraphed about a lifetime ahead of the audience. I guess this is social commentary and satire. In any event its not very satisfying. So we have a big movie star in a not so hot movie. Your move.
