Diego is a film director very close to death, surrounded by people who are having a hard time dealing with his stormy state of mind. Chances are he won't survive, but if he does, that means he'll need to learn to live.

The idea is even good, a tangle of feelings, random scenes to demonstrate the randomness, depth and complexity of the protagonism, as well as dramatizing our inner selves, but the execution sounded slow and discouraged, Babenco is divine, Willem Dafoe is wonderful, as always , but something was missing to connect me more intensely with the film and with Diego, regular, reasonable, or I was not inspired, willing and open to the diversity exposed in the film...
