Adding nicely to the Star Wars franchise...
28 October 2022
I wasn't really expecting a whole lot from this 2022 animated series "Tales of the Jedi", as I wasn't particularly impressed with the last animated series "The Bad Batch", nor with current ongoing series "Andor". But with "Tales of the Jedi" being a "Star Wars" product, of course I had to watch it.

And the six episodes of season 1 were impressive, each and every one of them, because they add detail to already established characters. And more importantly, it is detail to characters that you care about from other shows and movies.

With "Tales of the Jedi" being an animated series, then having a talented voice acting ensemble is crucial to the overall enjoyment of watching it. And I will say that they definitely have that here, but of course with Disney being behind this project, would it be different? And there are some nice returning voices appearing in the show as well.

Visually then "Tales of the Jedi" is good enough. It is very much akin to the art style and animation style as seen in "The Clone Wars" series and "The Bad Batch" series. So if you enjoyed that, you will also enjoy this one.

The downside to "Tales of the Jedi" is the relatively short run-time of each episode. It feels like the episode ends just shortly after it has started. But I guess it feels that way because the narrative grips the audience firmly and take you on an enjoyable space adventure in a galaxy far, far away.

I enjoyed all six episodes of season 1 and binge-watched the in one sitting. And I am most definitely returning to watch more, if Disney opt to continue on with "Tales of the Jedi".

My rating of "Tales of the Jedi" lands on a seven out of ten stars.
