Warning: Spoilers
The opening title sequence of the film suggests it was going to be a comedy or at least a satire. Unfortunately it becomes a rather boring 'space western' with a plot involving a bejewelled asteroid and a missing prospector. There are gunfights, a saloon brawl and a monocled villain but it's mostly pedestrian and much too long. The cast are not outstanding though I particularly liked Warren Mitchell as the main bad guy J. J. Hubbard and the beauteous Adrienne Corri as the security officer Liz Murphy. The latter was more interesting than the main female lead played by Catherina von Schell whom I thought was bland. Sweet Bernard Bresslaw trying to be a hardened bodyguard was rather risible. The futuristic costumes like all 1960's fashions have dated badly.

Hammer films attempting a science fiction story was certainly a departure for them but in this case it never really came off.
