She's a mannequin...and no one notices?!?
10 November 2022
The premise for "Beautiful, But Dummies" is so bad that it makes you wonder who actually thought this was funny and that audiences would enjoy it! Frankly, I've seen funnier operations!

When the film begins, two idiots (Tom Patricola and Buster West) are sent by their boss to deliver a mannequin to some fashion show. Instead, they pretend the dummy is alive...and create all sorts of mayhem.

I must say that this comedy short is among the worst I've ever seen. Not only is the plot ridiculous, it really makes no sense and isn't funny. The voice of the mannequin sounds exactly like a guy pretending (badly) to be a woman and I cannot imagine anyone thinking the mannequin is real. To make it worse, the comedy team are obnoxious and unfunny. My vote for one of the worst comedy shorts of the 1930s.
