Review of Haul Out the Holly

I completely get it. Don't get me wrong! I was full side eye for a chunk of this one myself. My personal main must for Christmas movies is the decor and this one had it so that's why I stuck around because the parents here?? Hated them. Until I didn't. It was a try out! A freaking try out! I get this one isn't going to be for everyone. I prefer Chabert when she doesn't portray the sugary sweet and overly bubbly lead. I thought Wes Brown was a quirky and endearing break from the normal cookie cutter love interest. I appreciated all of the nods to Christmas movie classics. I thought the supporting cast did a fantastic job and were hilarious while also making me care about them. This has actually been one of my favorites of the year so far. I really hate that it missed the mark for so many others. If you're still unsure if you want to watch this one or previously thought it was unwatchable because of unlikable characters then I encourage you to push through and give it a chance. I'm glad I did.
