Angsty, brooding yet sexy teen romance set in Italy, aka Time Is Up part 2.
5 December 2022
This is the second installment in the romance that was started between Vivian and Roy in the film Time is Up. In the second film Roy and Vivian have been a couple for six months and Roy has lost his college scholarship due to being off the swim team. Vivian travels with Roy back to Sicily, Italy for him to be able to sell his family's farmhouse in order to get money for him to continue to attend college.

While in Italy Vivian meets Roy's lovely aunts and a stranger named Anna when she crashes her motorcycle outside of where Vivian is staying. Alone, Vivian helps Anna out and the two hit it off. To repay Vivian's kindness, Anna takes her out for the day to show her the countryside. Roy is in a bit of a panic when they return, as he didn't know where Vivian was, shows some signs of distrusting this Anna.

When Roy and Vivian are unable to return home right away due to a volcano, they end up spending more time with Anna and her boyfriend, Tony. Meanwhile, one of Roy's aunts shares his photography with a gallery owner and boyfriend Thomas, who approaches Roy about exhibiting his work in Thomas' up coming show. This puts a little distance between Roy and Vivian as they each think the other is not supporting their future. Roy however lays all his cards on the table by proposing to Vivian...but will lies and Anna's dark backstory get in the way of their future happiness?

This is a angsty teen romance filled with brooding. I know that's not everyone's thing...but remember it's a teen romance. Try to go back to those troubling, hormone filled years and those feelings of absolutism's. That always helps put me in the right frame of mind with which to view this kind of angsty teen drama. Having said that this story was filled with that achy brooding kind of love in a gorgeous backdrop, with some great music, some good costuming, decent sex scenes and some hot youthful tattooed bodies.

I did have a couple storyline complaints...like for example most couples who do not have the same native language tend to over communicate, because they assume that their partner doesn't understand. A big flaw in this plot is the lack of communication between these two individuals who not only claim to love one another but plan on getting married. Also, why would you keep the secret of a childhood friend from your significant other, especially one that might explain odd behavior and protect her?

Guilty pleasure for me, for sure....but I am rooting for Roy and Vivian. Would I like to see a third film, absolutely!
