A nice annoyance
24 December 2022
This film is the first directed by Benigni, who also signs the script, half with Giuseppe Bertolucci, and also takes on the lead role.

It is a shy but fun first work. There are four autonomous episodes, which could be four independent short films, as was the fashion for some time.

In the first Benigni plays with the mythical Jesus, albeit innocently, considering that Italy is the Pope's country. In the second falls in love with an angel. In the third he makes a scathing, but somewhat burlesque, critique of the banking system. Finally, on the fourth stage he plays himself, guarding the flame of the unknown soldier.

It is the comedian who demonstrates his potential, also as an author, although still in a short format. It anticipates the bigger flights to follow.
