I watched the Shield on TV back when it was first shown and was blown away, with the acting, the dialogue, the interpersonal stuff, the filming, it was in my view revolutionary in 2002.
I watched it again some years later, probably 2012,and was still just 10/10 out there, I've recently just re-watched the whole series, over a period of a couple of weeks, and it is still at the top of my ALL TIME favourite tv series even after 20 years, it brings real life gritty realism even after all this time,
But and I have to be truthful here, seasons 1-6 get a 9/10, season 7 is just a little lacking, the series, IMHO, goes off the boil in Season 7, although the story plays out in S7, I feel the writers were left with no more bite in the story, and to then for Vic Mackey to screw over Ronnie, for his wife is just poor. When Ronnie was a solid partner and his wife Corinne was flaky at best.
And at the end we witness, Vic doing a menial job job for ICE, which tbh he probably deserves after all the doggy stuff, but Ronnie ends up in jail, and he was the most solid of all 4 strike team member's, I guess no good deed goes unpunished.
