Scarecrow and Mrs. King (1983–1987)

Pure Fun

All television, for the most part, requires at least some willing suspension of disbelief. Scarecrow and Mrs. King is no exception, but no one really cares (and why should we - who really watches TV to see reality, something these "reality show" producers might want to keep in mind). I don't know anyone who watches this show in the 80's who doesn't think of it fondly. The characters are likable, and we all root for Lee and Amanda to get together. This was made during the Cold War, and that informs many of the stories in terms of the bad guys, but that doesn't bother me - that's how things were before the fall of the Berlin Wall. The plots are fun, and are safe for watching by anyone over the age of 9 or 10, I would say. So, get the DVD set and watch with your kids!
