This is a French movie set in the early part of World War One. You can tell it's a French film because it is somewhat biased against the Germans but so am I and I'm not even French. Mainly, what I wanted to mention was that you can tell this was written by a woman. All but 3 of the men characters are some level of bad and many are despicable. That being said, the acting is good for the most part. The writing is decent. It has some historical chronological flaws. The costumes and vehicles give an authentic feel to the movie.
Some things were predictable to me. I can't mention which without a spoiler alert. It was still worth watching. I give it a marginal 7 stars.
