With Jack Webb as the Executive Producer, it's not surprising that "77 Sunset Strip was canceled after Season 6. Jack Webb was a disaster to the show, it's writers and production value. Although he decimated "77 Sunset Strip", his true colors were finally exhibited in his two flagship, White Supremacist shows, "Dragnet" and "Adam 12". The fact that he is dead only informs other Producers they will never be subjected to his White Male Ideology. His Production Values have only lead to greater division between Community Police and normal, everyday Citizens. His Production Values lead to the brutality suffered by Rodney King by the LAPD in 1992.
