First of all this is a comedy and fantasy film. Don't expect it to be realistic in a sense that the plot evolves as if it was possible in real life. There are no extraterrestrial kids...
Even French women can't travel trough the jungle with a trolly... so, it's a fun to watch comedy...
When you know something about the French life style there are several funny jokes in it... a man in the middle of the jungle enjoying a bottle of Bordeaux wine, and watching a cooking channel is one... you find the others... like how the two lead characters interact...
At one point it get a fairytale ending... a deeper touch if you like... all about getting old and death... never heavy always light tough...
I recommend watching it, if you feel for a straight forward simple fun fantasy comedy.
