Because if you don't you'll miss a great performance by Jean Reno! He is absolutely adorable playing a butler; I just wonder if the French phrases he throws in are scripted or if the director missed them, since the series is set in Galicia, Spain. The period is well adhered to, the 40s costumes and cars are just gorgeous. The misogyny of the period especially that in Spain is probably, unfortunately, historically accurate as well. Even in the 40s, would an adult American woman allow her brother to have the police not only ransack her belongings but her person? I hope things weren't as bad in America in the 40s as they seem to be in Catholic Spain. However, it is really an interesting look at a period when women weren't allowed to be police officers and yet their powers of deduction outshine the men. Despite the restrictive clothing, etc., of the period. And it shows how far a woman will go to honor her late father. An excellent addition to the Prime lineup!
