This is the kind of fun, cheesy 80s movie that evokes a nostalgic feeling of going to the theater on a Saturday night, as well as Joe Bob Briggs on cable TV counting breasts and deaths. This movie doesn't have breasts (nudity is only implied), but it does have deaths. Alien invaders with the appearance of nightmarish circus clowns and a literal taste for human blood terrorize a small town. The clown makeup is very creepy, the deaths are sometimes quite gruesome, and the visual effects are quite well done, especially considering the movie's low budget. It's fun to watch John Vernon as a grumpy, hateful police chief chew the scenery and get what's coming to him. Quite enjoyable.
