Let me start off by saying one of my top if not my top horror movie was Sinister! If we can't agree on that then we can't be horror movie friends and horror is not your thing.
I scrolled by Malum when I first saw the name and the bloody woman on the cover although it did look interesting but I was off put cause I just watched the new (Evil Dead Rise had high high hopes and it was trash! Not scary at all, not interesting, bad acting, dumb set cause they wanted to be different from the original cabin, didn't work and don't know why the high reviews! Maybe because Rotten Tomatoes sucks. The movie did have a lot of blood tho.) I thought Malum was going to be like that with a ton of crappy gore and lots of blood but it was not.
I watched Malum at night in the dark by myself. I was highly surprised. It did start off with a bang then got really slow for a bit, then escalated to another level of horror, drama, sci-fi and the jump scares actually got me! I can't remember the last time that happened! Excellent make up and horror costumes and special effects. They showed the monsters and I was not disappointed. Love the story which is creepy in itself. And my sister is a horror fan an I would only recommend good movies for her to watch and this was one of them. Highly recommend a watch and I guess I have to watch Last Shift now!
