With one of my favourite German actors - Sebastien Koch - in the lead role, this movie is based on true events surrounding the mid-1944 assassination attempt on Hitler. It thereby uses German Wehrmacht colonel Von Stauffenberg as the basis for telling the story. Von Stauffenberg was one of the main actors and was the person whom actually placed the bomb close to Hitler.
This movie shows the reasons that military leadership wanted to kill Hitler, the preparations, the assassination attempt and the activation of "Plan Valkyrie" by which they gain control over Berlin, the army and the SS.
Although it is a very decent watch - I rate it 7.0/10 - I prefer the 2008 movie "Valkyrie" with Tom Cruise in the lead role. In my opinion, the 2008 movie better explains the mechanism behind the "Valkyrie Plan": i.e. The legal means on how to get control of the Nazi empire.
