I feel like this episode works perfectly for what it was meant to be, which was a tribute to TWin Peaks, a very popular show that came out a few decades ago. The episode starts in the same way Twin Peaks, with a young woman being found drowned, and the investigation to figure out who killed her. Later on in the episode, a second woman, the librarian, was also murdered, via hanging. The two cases clearly connect, and at the end of the episode Shawn even starts to clear things up with the pastor who he had a rough relationship with. I ended up really liking this episode for what it was, and I can easily see why it is considered one of the best episodes in the entire series.
