With "La Cage Aux Folles III" it's pretty clear that the series is wearing thin. In the previous parts there have been gay people trying to act straight, straight people trying to act gay, the gamut has pretty much been run. There are still laughs in this final chapter, but they don't come as frequently as before. And yet, the sheer charm and chemistry of Ugo Tognazzi and Michel Serrault carry the film and save the day. Stephane Audran is wasted in a small part, but Antonella Interlenghi is absolutely stunning (we're talking Ornella Muti-levels of stunning here) and lights up the screen when she (belatedly) enters the proceedings. **1/2 out of 4.
