Couldn't they find a real Indian to play the Guest Star role?
9 September 2023
Why didn't the producers have a real Indian play the guest role of Sue Sullivan, Indian? At least use an Italian or an Eastern European woman, not some lily-white girl (Katharine Ross). And what a slick play on her first name... they call her Sue? As in "Sioux" Indian?

This is so lame. Politically correct foolishness in 1965. White man bad, Indian good. 20 men, women, children in a wagon train slaughtered by Apaches, but the townspeople have no reason to be upset?

This sorry episode features a "crucifixion" scene with a Native American boy, while Mr. Colton quotes Bible verses. That is approaching blasphemy.

No wonder "The Loner" died in the ratings and got cancelled during the first season. This kind of garbage is why.
