Warning: Spoilers
As others have said, this (have only watched the first season) 'series' could have been whittled down to 1/2 hr to one hour instead of this prolonged repetition of what just transpired. It certainly gives an interesting insight into the bayou area and mentality of its inhabitants and shows how tedious and frustrating police/detective work can often be. The characters are a mix of bright and decent types, like the female detectives and Aubrey, and the types like Rodie Sanchez and some of the other locals who are pretty stereotypical of what I expected to see here. No shortage of suspects and weirdos but in the end, even dna could not help solve this cold case. Justice for the victim Eugenie may still come but after many hours of watching this unfold, it was just unsatisfactory but obviously also how it sometimes is in the real world. Not sure I want to sit through another far-too-long explanation of a crime that is inconclusive at best. What was refreshing was the not-so-pleasant personality of detective Sanchez and his shortcomings, but also his own realization as to his strengths and weaknesses. Not all cops are the kind you see in tv crime shows. And not all are geniuses who solve all cases.
