Hard To Believe Edwards Directed This
30 October 2023
El Brendel and Harry Langdon are two nitwits tasked with following the moll of the gangster who is threatening banker Vernon Dent. Instead, they follow Christine MacIntyre, Dent's wife, and wreak a trail of ruin.

When I saw that Harry Edwards directed this, I was anxious to see this late short starring Langdon. Edwards was one of the Sennett staff who shepherded Langdon through his first few years of film-making, helping him preserve his unique comedy style. However, this is nothing at all like that. Instead, we get the same plot outline that Columbia's shorts producer Jules White was turning out ten years earlier, with the usual White gags of excruciating injuries eked out with over-the-top sound effects.
