This is a very interesting movie with a lot of truly disturbing imagery, It is very Lovecraftian in its story and body horror.
Spiders are scary at the best of times, but this movie cranks it up to eleven with some really creepy scenes. While the film is slow to get going, it does start with a mystery that is a bit of a slow burn. One thing the movies does very well, is to convey a sense of unease, that things are a bit off.
The kills here are done very well with a lot of blood and some excellent make up and effects. But it is the final part of the film that really pays odd with some real nightmare fuel.
The acting is fine and the music sets the mood and atmosphere but it is the terrifying practical effects that make this the classic that it is.
I recommend this one highly but if you are scared of spiders, be warned., .
