I'll start with the good. The world is incredibly unique and complex, the visuals are incredible. The art style is great. The soundtrack is great as well as the voice acting. It was fun to watch the whole way through.
However, I have many issues with it. For one, all of the characters take being on an alien world extremely lightly. As in they touch everything without weighing the consequences and even if they get bit by an unknown creature it's no big deal. There are a lot of unrealistic scenes where there is no fall damage or a fight is drawn out to give the underdog the chance to win or escape. The animation was good though they did take shortcuts. The story was mediocre and so were the characters. The dialogue was poor. The villain was hard to believe which only made her annoying. And one of the characters has no redeeming qualities yet I'm supposed to believe he is married to a nice woman who left everything on earth to be with him.
Despite all that, I think everyone should watch it because it is a work of art that most people can appreciate.
