Interesting story and unconventional setting in the Southern United States. Quality casting decisions that defy assumptions and put the lie to judging based on one's color or one's past. Insightful and illuminating on the topic of darkness in this world--such as degeneration, disease, and death--and, upon reflection, suggestive of the Light we need to carry us through. Perhaps a welcome commentary on scourges ravaging the country today, including opioid addiction, dementia, and violence.
