one night
9 December 2023
Charlie Samson (Don Murray) is a struggling bookkeeper in Manhattan. His wife gets pregnant. He reluctantly attends his co-worker Arnold Craig's bachelor party. Walter (E. G. Marshall) is an older workmate. Bachelor Eddie (Jack Warden) is always on the make. Ken is the final member. They encounter a party girl (Carolyn Jones) and have a night to remember.

This started as a televised play by Paddy Chayefsky and was adapted into a movie. I wish the guys would follow Carolyn Jones into that building. I want them to blow it out in the first half and then have the deep insightful discussions in the second half. I want more Carolyn Jones. She's the damaged MPDG. On the other hand, Patricia Smith doesn't have the screen time for the audience to make any judgement. I like the movie's pathetic qualities and it happening all in one night.
