Deputy Marshal Sam Buckhart has got notorious outlaw Johnny Q (Brian G Hutton) in custody. He gunned down several people during a robbery.
Now sentenced to jail for 15 years. Buckhart needs to deliver Johnny Q to jail in Mescalero.
They both join passengers in a stagecoach. Only Johnny Q's has his gang members to mount a rescue.
When the stagecoach is held up, Buckhart discovers he needs to protect four of the passengers. One of them wants to same himself at all costs.
Maybe Buckhart needs to find a way to get help or contrive to draw out Johnny Q's friends.
At least there is a clever ruse pulled by Buckhart although for a moment it seems everyone were going to be betrayed.
