A good story

This movie, about one man's dream of making the world's fastest car and beating rival Enzo Ferrari, is a good history movie!

Lamborghini has been my favorite car brand my whole life, and even though I knew about the movie's bad criticism, I was still excited for it.

The movie clearly has some issues, especially with its technical aspects. The cinematography is the main issue for my part because it really has some amateur mistakes, like the face tracing when the secretary of the protagonist Ferruccio Lamborghini, Anita Borgatti catches Ferruccio in cheating on her with another woman. To add, speaking of before the cheating scene, the dubbing of the singer is terrible, and so is the singer's acting. Although the color grading is mostly nice, it's the camera angles that make things a bit confusing and don't tell the story of the scenes in the right way. So is the editing because it feels out of place sometimes. In terms of storyline, it's rushed for sure. It has its highlights, but the runtime is too short to let the movie explore the scenes in-between that have the job to build up to the highlights, which creates some undiscovered holes.

I have a lot of complaints about the technical aspects, and even though the story has its flaws as well, I think the story in the big picture is good and deep. We experience the things in Ferruccio's life that reflects his morality. We can look at the movie and think that Ferruccio is the protagonist and Enzo Ferrari the antagonist, but in terms of the inner story, it's really Ferruccio's dream that is the protagonist and his ego that is the antagonist. He puts his dreams before his closest people, and to achieve his goals, he thinks the risk of bringing his closest ones down with him is worth it, at least what his unconsciousness thinks. Even though the last scene isn't perfect, I think it symbolizes the story in a good way. Ferruccio got is car, but with the cost of losing his loved ones.

While this movie isn't a critical darling, it offers a compelling, if flawed, story about ambition, rivalry, and personal cost. Despite technical missteps in filmmaking and a rushed pace, the core narrative resonates. We see Ferruccio's dream for automotive glory morph into a battle against his own ego, jeopardizing his relationships. He achieves his goal, but the final scene paints a bittersweet picture: success stained by loss, leaving us to ponder the true price of chasing ambition.
