No pun intended - I watched the trailer for the first movie so many times I reckon that I actually thought I had seen the movie ... turns out I had not. But I think the movie/sequel works even without much of a knowledge when it comes to the first movie. And same is true I think when it comes to the true story this is based on. Nothing much I know about that too.
So no idea how that fares against that (or the first movie). I do wonder though if the sequel right here even still has anything from the true story this was inspired by at the start. Good actors, good singing ... but also quite the drama ... sometimes a bit too much (you may wonder if the term first world problems didn't exist, if it would have been invented for this ... the "issues" the characters have at times).
Nice drama, nice comedy ... but I am quite certain that it is not living up to the first movie ... will get back (to you) on that ... no pun intended.
