Born A Champion is a 2021 martial arts drama that centers around an American, Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt who after the death of his wife ends up accepting a rematch against one of his toughest opponents.
Although this doesn't throw any real surprises at you, and can be somewhat predictable, I still found it quite entertaining. Sean Patrick Flanery stars as Mickey Kelly, a martial artist that holds a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu who gets beaten by a dishonorable fighter, but moves on to create a nice life with his wife and kid. But a couple years later the internet stirs the pot making fans and promoters want a rematch.
It's not the greatest martial arts film ever, but still has some very good scenes depicting the beautiful art of jiu-jitsu. The cast does a good job, the story is well written, and the end is very dramatic and emotional. If you've never seen this before, I'd recommend checking it out.
