Red Branaham (William Gargan) gets into a fight for sassy Aggie Appleby (Wynne Gibson). They are broke and behind on rent. Red gets arrested and Aggie gets evicted. Her friend gets her a room while the boarder Adoniram 'Schlumpy' Schlump (Charles Farrell) is away. He comes back early, but the mild-mannered gentleman takes pity on the fake socialite.
This is a pre-Code comedy. It's an interesting premise and a little left of center. I'm not in love with Aggie and I need to be for this movie. There is a way to be endearing while being the sassy streetwise tart. Otherwise, this has a bit of fun and the pairing does grow on me.
