How on earth was this ever listed as a drama? It's as silly as a fart in the bath!
If you're looking for heavy drama, this is not it.
Winslet is really well cast as an almost dictator living in a paranoid world.
Many British and American actors appear and disappear.
A lot of intricate maneuvering behind the scenes by staff as they try to protect their jobs/lives from a somewhat unhinged leader that is doing a dalliance with other countries. Very Putinesk.
Even the opening titles are a bit campy. It's one of those...what's gonna happen next. Great satire.
Probably more truth to the diplomatic scenes than we actually realise!
