The film "Taps" is a good combination of a military drama and a caution tale for the younger generations.

The renowned Bunker Hill Military Academy is famous for its traditions and is renowned for its professional training of officers for the United States Armed Forces. However, one day, officials announce that Bunker Hill Academy will be reformed, all students there will be transferred to other educational institutions, the building will be demolished, and the land will be sold to commercial property.

As a result of his disagreement, Timothy Hutton's character, the eldest among the cadets, decides to organize the defense of the academy, while forming a complete all-round defense of the academy with several dozen cadets. The character of Tom Cruise, who leads a platoon of "red berets," and the character of Sean Penn, a devoted friend of the protagonist, the commander of a cavalry platoon, responded to help him.

They have to confront the entire city police, the US Army's deployed reserves with military equipment, and, of course, themselves. The film shows us the consequences of such actions, the existence of meaning in them, betrayal and devotion, shows how the consciousness of a teenager is already capable of defending his ideas.

A good film that I definitely recommend.
