Roscoe has no trouble kicking a sissified Arthur Tavares out of town for messing with Beatrice Van, but when a bandit terrorizes the town and Roscoe goes in pursuit, Arthur gets his revenge in this one-joke Keystone split reel comedy.

By the time Mack Sennett produced this movie, he had enough talent in front of and behind the camera to produce a steady flow of one-reel comedies. Nonetheless, he still turned out the occasional split reel when an idea didn't pan out or he wanted something in the way of a test reel to find out if a new hire was worth promoting. This effort was for Arbuckle. He would become one of the most popular Keystone stars and go onto an important career until it was aborted by the Virginia Rappe scandal. Four minutes was enough for this effort -- more than enough.
