PamelaShort13 February 2015
Warning: Spoilers
After successfully prospecting in Death Valley, John Stuart Webster ( J. Warren Kerrigan ) boards a train for Denver and rescues Dolores Ruey ( Lois Wilson ), a glamorous Central American girl who was reared in the United States, from a masher. John learns that his pal Billy Geary ( Kenneth Harlan ) has discovered gold in Sobrante, Central America. He leaves to help, but develops ptomaine poisoning on the way. After recovering in New Orleans, John now saves a man from being killed in a park. Later, the man, Ricardo Ruey ( Harry Von Meter ), hides in John's steamer room and relates that his father, the former president of Sobrante, was assassinated by the present ruler, President Sarros ( Joseph J. Dowling ). In Sobrante, John discovers that Billy is in love with Dolores, who arrived earlier. After sending Billy to marry Dolores while he develops the mine, John learns that Dolores is Ricardo's sister, although neither knows this. While fighting for the victorious Ricardo, who becomes president, John is injured. He recovers to find Dolores nursing him, and when she tells him, she is not in love with Billy, he confesses his love. Finally, they make plans to marry.

This 1918 adventure/drama starring J. Warren Kerrigan and Lois Wilson is sadly listed as unknown on the list of lost silent films.
