- A man often looks sexually at a much younger girl. It's implied he plans to abuse her sexually, although he never gets to go through with it.

- Tol'able David is pretty violent compared to your usual 20's film. However, it does seem pretty tame in light of modern cinema.
- A dog is killed.
- Several people are shot with a gun and die. One gets shot in the arm but survives.

Violence & Gore
- Some fighting, scuffling, etc. There is one fight scene in the climax of the film that includes a man and boy brawling. The man attempts choking the boy while backing him up against the wall. They both get pretty beat up. At the end, it's never clarified if the man dies or not. However the boy does not.
- A man throws a rock at a man and it hits him in the back. It ends up crippling him.
- A man has a heart attack and dies.
