Josephine Dunne suffers a great deal in this boxing drama where she stands by husband William Collier Jr. until she discovers that she's having a baby and he's been dragged into a liaison with the opportunistic Natalie Moorehead. This is typical early 30's pre-code melodrama where the vampish Moorehead makes her intentions known from the start, about as subtle as a knock- out. Typical drama is told in a fast-moving and highly enjoyable manner, with subject matter that interested both male and female audiences in depression era America. Coming off the success of MGM's big boxing film, "The Champ", this twists the plot around enough to be unique, with some fine comedic supporting performances as well which take a serious turn as the drama unfolds.
