Violence & Gore

  • A man and woman are attacked in the opening scene. He is struck down with a stick and she is held captive.
  • A man on horseback is approached by an old woman for help. She turns on him and bludgeons him, dragging his body into the woods.
  • A hangman is seen trying to hang a prisoner. The prisoner gets the hangman into the noose and kicks away the can. Then it is shown that this is a trick performed by actors.
  • Two men fight in a pub. One injures the other with a broken bottle. Some blood is seen. The second man hits the first with a staff. The fight is ended with several blows by a third man.
  • When the hanging trick is repeated, the hangman dies.
  • A man is killed with a scythe (off-camera) and immediately buried.
  • A man is shot in the eye with a dart dipped in poison.
  • A cat drinks some spilled wine which turns it to stone.
  • A dwarf is thrown from the top of a castle. He lands in a pile of straw and is dragged away by the old witch.
