Warning: Spoilers
A very low budget peplum epic from Italy, quite unknown today which may be down to the lack of familiar faces in it; no imported muscleman stars from the USA here, just second tier actors doing their bit. It's a Greek tale about a city rising up against its Spartan oppressors in the form of a minor revolution; what we get is tiresome romance, cheap action and a few stock battle sequences which fail to impress too. Below par for the industry.

A waste of time!

I saw this film when I was a little boy, before I was 10 years old, and fascinated me then, especially the scene when Diomedes (André Lawrence) is tortured with the red iron. I was just a naive kid. Reviewed August 2018. Only extras moving chaotically, horses, soldiers dressed in white, black or red, to know who is who, a herd of cows, a drunk woman, some battles, some arsonists, that's all we see, again and again.
