Routine sexploitation stuff

Warning: Spoilers
THE YES GIRLS is an obscure sexploitation epic from cult British director Lindsay Shonteff. The film's tone is well in evidence in the very first scene, in which a young blonde girl escapes from a detention school and runs topless through the woods. Said girl is lead actress Sue Bond, best known for her work with Benny Hill; she certainly gives an all-out performance here and I ended up rather liking her innocent-but-world weary presence come the end. Sadly, the film itself is something of a slog, with lots of long, drawn-out moments and surprisingly little incident. Bond hooks up with some flatmates and falls into the clutches of a porn director, but Shonteff's sole aim is to show naked flesh and there's little insight. If this was trying to be an expose of the seedy side of the entertainment industry then it doesn't really work.
