- The third season takes a much darker turn in the series, beginning with the death of Joe's bride to be in a hit and run. More mature themes are also handled, like drug smuggling, piracy, mob informants, human trafficking,revenge and murder (with bodies shown).One episode even shows Frank draw a gun on Joe after he supposedly sells out.
- Fenton Hardy is injured and both brothers beg at his hospital side for him to be okay.
